This pilot brings together leadership representation, workforce information and published workplace support for 20 major Indian listed companies.
Figures come from company reports, BRSR disclosures, official websites and dated financial snapshots. Each company profile links to its sources. Portfolio figures reflect the allocations you choose.
Definitions & methodology
Company selection
The fixed pilot cohort is the top 20 companies in AMFI’s six-month average full market-capitalisation ranking ending December 2025 ↗. Company figures come from publicly available annual reports, sustainability reports and official websites, principally from 2025–2026.
Leadership
The four GemmaQ inputs are women’s share of the executive team, women’s share of the board, a woman CEO and a woman chair. Executive percentages are taken from published figures or calculated from the company’s actual operating leadership team, including its CEO. The specific team definition is shown in each company profile.
Pilot GemmaQ ratings apply the existing GemmaQ scoring convention to these collected inputs. Workforce and workplace policies remain separate perspectives. A missing leadership input leaves the rating unavailable.
Workforce, wages and progress
The workforce headline combines all reported employees and workers, permanent and other-than-permanent. Company profiles retain the employee-only alternatives and the standalone or consolidated filing boundary. Executive team populations and observation periods remain distinct. KMP is a statutory group, shown separately from the operating executive team.
Women’s wage share comes from the BRSR wage disclosure. Its population can differ from the headcount population. Female-to-male median pay ratios are unadjusted; they do not establish equal pay for equal work. Complaint counts are disclosed facts, not a workplace-safety ranking. Year-on-year changes appear only for comparable observations or the company’s current-versus-prior wage disclosure.
The six-area equality wheel
The wheel covers leadership, opportunity, care and safe work, pay and value, women beyond the workforce, and accountability. Sixteen fixed criteria form small, visible checklists. Leadership uses GemmaQ above the median of available ratings in this 20-company pilot. This is a covered-company benchmark. Sector filters do not turn the pilot into an Indian sector-wide or market-wide benchmark.
Each company slice stays lightly tinted until all criteria in that area are supported by reviewed evidence, then becomes fully coloured. Partial evidence remains visible in the area’s details. A full area means its checklist is evidenced; this does not establish equal outcomes or policy effectiveness. “Not established” and “not yet reviewed” remain separate states. Generic succession planning does not establish a gender-explicit succession process. An equal-pay commitment does not establish a pay review or audit.
ETF and financial context
NIFTYBEES is a real Indian-listed ETF reference. Its complete published holdings are retained; gender data covers only holdings matched to the pilot. Numeric averages describe that covered portion. Unknown holdings remain in the coverage denominator. Company financial figures are dated NSE snapshots and may have different observation dates. Card P/E values use the reciprocal of the allocation-weighted earnings yield of covered holdings; a non-positive aggregate earnings yield is not meaningful as a P/E. The coverage label shows the share of invested weight with a finite, nonzero P/E observation. These are indicative valuation snapshots; they are not aggregated into portfolio returns. A stock price change and a distribution-reinvested fund NAV return use different definitions.
Charts and savings scenarios
Sector charts use each company’s pilot sector and harmonise the ETF’s published industries into the same broad groups. Industries outside those groups are shown as other sectors. Fund sectors cover its complete published holdings, while gender averages retain their separate data coverage. Savings illustrations compound user-entered annual return assumptions monthly, with contributions at month-end. These assumptions are independent of the selected holdings; results are nominal, before fees and taxes.
Portfolio comparisons
Figures are weighted by the allocations you enter. Numeric company metrics average the allocated holdings for which information is available. Coverage is shown when information is incomplete. Woman CEO and woman chair figures show the known portfolio weight in companies with a woman in that role, using the full allocated company portion as denominator. Unallocated weight is shown separately.
Portfolio equality percentages average the documented share of each area’s checklist using allocations. Slice colour intensity reflects this average; full colour means complete evidence coverage. Unreviewed criteria remain unfilled. These are comparisons of company attributes. They do not measure promotion probabilities, jobs created, the effectiveness of a policy or the impact of an investment.
